This term, our topic is Seasons, and we are exploring all sorts of weather too. Today was a VERY rainy day and there was thunder and lightning in the morning. Autumn leaves are also all over the ground outside, so we are surrounded by our topic!
In Reading, a big focus for everyone is comprehension - understanding what we are reading.
Today, our comprehension challenge was to follow written instructions to create snowflakes, tulips and sunshines from folded paper to put in our seasons window. The instructions are included below if you want to try for yourselves.
That covered Spring, Summer and Winter. For Autumn, we created pastel and dye fallen leaves, carefully copying the designs and colours we found in fallen leaves around the school.
You might see in the photo that we are also learning Te Reo Māori words for weathery things, and have written up information reports as well from books we have been reading about seasons and weather.
