Fairy Tales!

This is the term for Fairy Tales! Yay!

Today we begun our discovery by trying to order fairy tales that have been chopped up! Lots of discussion, frustration, and laughter whilst sorting.

Who wants to be a millionaire?

We read a newspaper article that came out last night, saying that someone had bought a Lotto ticket in Greymouth that had won a million dollars!

What if it was someone we knew? What if it's someone in our own families?

We did a lot of imagining about what we would do if we were the winners. Maybe the winner can get inspiration from our ideas...

Christmas Art from Nature

Haize had a cool idea for us to make Christmas art using things we find outside. So we did! Some people decided to use indoor objects instead. Some very creative, festive pieces!

Rotation, Reflection and Translation

We are learning about rotation, reflection and translation.

Rotation is when something is spinning around one spot, like a fidget spinner, a fan and a clock.

Reflection is when something reflects back like in a mirror or in the water.

Translation is when you move a shape to another place but it stays the same otherwise.

We made Māori patterns because it's Māori Language Week this week.

First, we traced around shapes or drew our own ones.

Then we cut them out and made copies of them.

After that, we stuck them on paper after we had rotated, reflected or translated them.

It was fun and the end products are great!
