Matariki

Today we had a productive day learning about Matariki. We made stick stars, windows, researched Matariki and completed some reading comprehension and wordsearch about it. A lot of learning all round!

 

Times Tables

We've been going over what times tables are with some of the class. It can be a tricky concept, so we've been making visual representations to help understand.

What's the Time Mr Wolf?

Kōtuku have had a great time learning about time and clocks. Whilst the main focus has been o'clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to, some children have been challenged with five minute times.

We are grateful that we've had such beautiful weather to be able to take our learning outside! Our next time focus is how long things take to do, and calendars. 

Volume and Capacity

Kōtuku has had a great start to Term 2 by learning all about Volume and Capacity. We used our new learning area to test our knowledge of adding and subtracting amounts of water in different sized beakers, test tubes and containers. Thank goodness we didn't spill anything!
